Garda On scene of N11 accident:

A 20-year-old woman died after a crash in Navan Co Meath.

The collision happened at about 11.15pm last night at Boyne Road in Navan when a car went into the canal beside the River Boyne.

A woman in the car managed to free herself and raise the alarm.

The second woman was pronounced dead on arrival at Navan General Hospital.

Meanwhile, the N11 southbound is closed between the junctions of Clonkeen Road and Johnstown Road following a crash at the Johnstown Road junction.

The accident between a cyclist and a car happened just after 7.15am this morning.

The cyclist, a man in his 20s, has been taken to hospital.

Gardaí are on the scene and traffic is being diverted.

Elsewhere, a man has been injured in an apparent hit-and-run accident in west Belfast.

His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
