Officers from the Garda National Drugs Unit and the Organised Crime Unit were working on intelligence that an individual in Finglas had offered to sell guns and ammunition to criminal gangs.

The ammunition was suitable for four handguns and the silencer is believed to be for a glock handgun.

The cache was found in an apartment in the Premier Square complex in Finglas.

Two women – aged 27 and 30 – and a 30-year-old man were arrested during last night’s searches.
