Ethiopian wins Dublin City Marathon
Ethiopian runner Feyisa Lelisa claimed victory at the 30th running of the Dublin City Marathon in an unofficial time of 2:09:11.
Lelisa’s time was four seconds off the record. Russian Aleksey Sokolov, who remains the record holder, came in second place in an unofficial time of 2:10:35.
The Kenyan runner ‘Noah’ came third. The first Irish man home was Sergei Ciobanu, from Clonliffe Harriers club.
Katerina Stetsenko of the Ukraine took victory in the women’s race in a time of 2:32:45. This year’s marathon is believed to be the biggest ever, with an estimated 12,700 runners taking part.
