Cannabis - A number of arrests in separate drug hauls
Two men in their 20s have been arrested after a large quantity of cannabis plants were seized in Monaghan.
Gardaà from the Monaghan Drugs Unit searched two separate houses this morning and discovered an unspecified quantity of the plants.
They are believed to have an approximate street value of €300,000.
Meanwhile, two of the four men arrested in relation to the seizure of €1m worth of cannabis resin yesterday have appeared in court. The seizure was made at Forestlittle Road, behind Dublin Airport, when three vehicles were stopped at 6.30am yesterday morning.
Meanwhile, two men and a woman have appeared at Carrick-on-Shannon District Court in connection with the discovery of cannabis growing factories in counties Longford and Roscommon.
Judge Conall Gibbons remanded him in custody to appear before Harristown Court in Castlerea on 15 August.
